The Brazilian government and the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) signed a partnership that will translate the Child and Adolescent Statute and the Youth Statute into the indigenous language 'Tikuna'.
The 'Tikuna' is the most populous indigenous ethnic group in the Brazilian Amazon, and their language is spoken by about 40,000 natives.
Among the actions to promote accessibility and access to information, the Brazilian government has also made the Statute of the Child and Adolescent available to people with hearing disabilities interpreting the text into Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS).
