The Calha Norte Program
The Calha Norte Program is carried out by the Brazilian government to promote the social development of communities living in the Northern and Midwest borders of Brazil, as well as to guarantee security and sovereignty in the region.
The Program is composed of a broad set of services that positively impact the lives of residents of remote communities and ensure the presence of the State in strategic locations, encompassing 442 cities in 10 states and benefiting approximately 15 million people.
The scope of action of the Calha Norte Program ranges from the construction to the renovation of schools, health centers, multisport courts, water supply, sewers, streets, roads, bridges and several other public facilities and infrastructure works.
