Believing in the importance of science and technology, the Brazilian government began the construction of the National Center for Biopharmaceuticals and Biomolecules, within the campus of UNESP, one of the largest universities in Latin America.
The project should be completed in 2023 and will have 1,470 square meters to house research laboratories and spaces to host biotechnology startups. The Center will also have a factory and a quality control laboratory.
The Center will allow the staggering of the production of biological medicines. Among the new drugs that may be produced are Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), which are used, for example, in the production of vaccines.
