The Brazilian government coordinates protective measures in favor of minors, women and elderly

In 2021, the Brazilian govt coordinated large operations to further protect minors, women and the elderly. A national action to combat violence against women carried out by state police assisted 127k women, arrested 14k people, and issued nearly 40k urgent protective measures.
Fighting violence against the elderly, more than 15k complaints were investigated, leading to 242 search warrants, 400 arrests, 167 rescues and 1,067 protective measures. More than 16k visits to shelters and households have been made and almost 17k elderly people have been assisted.
Actions to combat violence against children have also been a priority. The Federal Highway and state police forces fought the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents on highways throughout the country, leading to the rescue of 70 minors and to 120 arrests.
Investigations on online child pornography resulted in search warrants in Brazil and five other countries and 60 arrests. Over 18k victims of violence and child abuse have been assisted; 1,7k protective measures were issued and more than 500 arrest warrants were served.
