More than 530,000 foreign tourists were in Brazil in the first two months of the year, and their spending grew by 63% - reaching US$ 781 million - according to the Central Bank.
In addition to promoting Brazil as an increasingly safe destination, the Brazilian government has focused advertising on countries where visa requirements have been abolished, such as Australia, Canada, Japan and the United States.
According to a report by US News & World Report, Brazil is the 7th best nation in the world for tourists traveling alone. The same survey, carried out with 17,000 people around the world, also points to Brazil as the number one global destination in terms of adventure.
