The Brazilian government sanctioned the General Data Protection Law – known as LGPD – which guarantees the protection of the fundamental rights of freedom, privacy and the free development of the personality of each individual.
Moving forward, an amendment to the Brazilian Constitution included the protection of personal data among fundamental rights and guarantees, which establishes that everyone is equal before the law, without distinction of any kind, and, among other things, guaranteeing inviolability and security.
The inclusion of data protection as a fundamental right of any person allows greater legal certainty in the application of the LGPD, promotes greater dignity, protects citizens and attracts more investments to Brazil.
