Over R$ 1.8 billion in assets were seized in a mega-operation to combat drug trafficking and money laundering

The government of Brazil, through the Ministry of Justice and Public Security’s Secretariat of Integrated Operations, supported a mega-operation to combat drug trafficking and money laundering, launched by police forces of the state of Pernambuco and 15 other Brazilian states.
About 400 security agents worked on the operation; 75 arrest warrants and 45 search warrants have been served. Criminal organizations have also been decapitalized financially, with over R$ 1.8 billion in assets seized, including more than 90 vehicles, besides weapons and ammunition.
The Ministry of Justice and Public Security, through its Secretariat of Integrated Operations’ M.O.S.A.I.C.O. and Excel Projects, obtained and supplied the Civil Police of Pernambuco with information essential to the success of the Operation, by identifying the criminals.
