The Brazilian government, through the Gov.br Platform, facilitated the opening of branches of foreign companies in Brazil. Authorization to work in the country is required, but is granted digitally within three days; whereas beforehand the process took an average of 45 days.
As a result, Brazil reached, in 2021, the historic mark of 36 new companies from abroad requesting installation in the country. And, since 2019, 92 foreign companies have been authorized to operate in Brazil.
In comparison, between 2016 and 2018, when the service did not exist, 21 requests and authorizations were registered. At the time, it was necessary to deliver all documentation - in duplicate - in person or by post to the National Department of Business Registration and Integration of the Ministry of Economy.
