Built 130 years ago in the Brazilian state of São Paulo, the Port of Santos is the largest in all of Latin America and one of the largest in the world. Its activity has reached a record high, and investment shifts are expected happen after its planned privatization.
Today, most of the world's sugar, orange juice and coffee beans pass through the Port of Santos, which in 2021 handled 147 million tons of cargo, attaining a budget surplus of BRL 400 million.
The Brazilian government is working to privatize the Port of Santos by the end of the year. Around R$ 16 billion in investments should be made, increasing the dynamism of the Brazilian economy.
