The Brazilian government has intensified actions to bring high-speed internet to all of the most remote areas of the country. So far, more than 17,000 new internet points have been installed, and more than 11 million Brazilians, in around 3,100 cities, have benefited.
Of this total, 13,300 points are in rural locations (78%). The Amazon and the Northeastern regions contain 75% of installed antennas. Schools, Health Posts, indigenous and riverside communities, quilombolas and community telecenters are priorities.
