In February, Brazil recorded its largest surplus since 2017 and the second largest since the beginning of the historical series started in 1989.
The Brazilian trade balance ended the month with a surplus of US$ 4.05 billion, an increase of 108.9% over the same period last year. The value of exports was also a record for the month, with US$22.91 billion, up 32.6% over February 2021.
The trade flow was also historic for the month, reaching US$ 41.78 billion, up 28%. The previous record was set in 2012, worth US$34.4 billion. In the first two months of the year, the balance had a surplus of US$ 3.84 billion, with growth of 125.4%.
