Brazil is the largest chicken exporter in the world
In 2020, Brazil became the world’s largest chicken exporter, surpassing the U.S. and the E.U. In 2021, exports were up 9% to 4.6 million tons; revenues from exports up 25.7% to US$ 7.66 bil. Brazil is the 2nd largest producer, with the 4th largest poultry stock (1.5 bil birds).
Chicken remains the main choice of protein in our country. According to The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation, Embrapa, Brazilians consume around 43 kg of chicken per year, making Brazil the world’s fourth largest poultry consumer market.
According to the United States Department of Agriculture, global consumption of chicken is expected to grow 16.7% by 2030, and Brazil is predicted to account for 32.5% of the world’s export growth, remaining the world’s leader.
