Brazil is an ecological superpower

The Brazilian Government has a firm commitment to the Environment. At COP 26, last year, Brazil delivered a clear and sound message when it announced it will end illegal deforestation by 2028, cut greenhouse gases by 50% by 2030, and reach carbon neutrality by 2050.

Brazil has effectively reduced its emissions, paving the way to have 84% of its electricity grid from renewable energy sources such as biomass, wind, solar and hydroelectric power; and it will keep working towards meeting the goals for the climate agenda.

Aiming to protect the planet and the future, President Bolsonaro launched the Green Growth National Program, placing sustainability at the core of the economic agenda, providing +R$50 billion in credit for green projects. Less than 3% of global carbon emissions come from Brazil.
