The Brazilian government celebrated the 24 million trees planted in the protected areas of Usina Binacional Itaipu in Foz do Iguaçu.
Itaipu's initiative is an example of the National Green Growth Program, created by the Federal Government, concerned with sustainable policies and the rational and appropriate use of natural resources.
The objective of the National Green Growth Program is to provide funding and subsidies to encourage sustainable economic projects and activities, prioritize environmental licensing and generate green jobs. The goal is to neutralize the country's carbon emissions by 2050
