CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars

The CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars program is designed to advance the careers of outstanding researchers in their first
academic appointment. By providing the right connections, opportunities and training, this program aims to help earlycareer
researchers achieve success as leaders and agents of change within academia and beyond.

CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars receive
» $100,000 CDN in research support
» Two-year appointment to a CIFAR global research
network
» Engagement within a CIFAR community with new opportunities to network and collaborate
» Specialized leadership and communications skills training Mentorship from a senior researcher in a CIFAR global research network
» Opportunities to create change within academia and beyond

PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY
CIFAR Azrieli Global Scholars applicants must:
» hold a PhD (or equivalent)
» be employed within the first five years of their first fulltime faculty position (or equivalent)
» be engaged in research that complements and contributes to the themes and goals of aCIFAR global research program
» demonstrate an outstanding level of research achievement and promise of future impact
» have a track record of, or interest in, engaging across disciplines, as well as sectors beyond academia, to enrich and extend the impact of their research.
» be fluent in spoken and written English.
* NOTE: Postdoctoral fellows are not eligible for this program.
» be fluent in spoken and written English.

WHEN
Applications open March 1, 2017, and the submission deadline is May 23, 2017. In-person interviews will take place September
16-17, 2017, in Toronto, Canada.
