Open America
For the first time, the event Open America is taking place in Brazil, bringing together major international meetings focused on research, publication and use of open data related to topics such as transparency, access to information, open government, civic technologies, data journalism, digital government, accountability and equity.
Aiming to promote the integration, from north to south, of a broad and diverse community, the event will be held at the Serzedello Correa Institute in Brasilia, between December 3 and 6 of 2024.
The event’s agenda includes a series of national and international activities, such as ABRELATAM/CONDATOS, one of the main and oldest meetings in Latin America and the Caribbean focused on publishing and using open data, as well as CODA.Br, Data Week Brazil and Open Government Meetings.
América Aberta will be held under the coordination of a Local Organizing Committee in Brazil, comprised by The Office of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), Open Knowledge Brasil (OKBR), the Information and Coordination Center of Dot BR (NIC.br) and the Development and Participation Collaboratory of the University of São Paulo (COLAB/USP).
International institutions are also involved in the organization, including the Organization of American States (OAS), the Latin American Open Data Initiative (ILDA), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and the Open Government Partnership (OGP).
