CAPES Thesis Award
The CAPES Thesis Award recognizes the best doctoral theses defended in Brazilian postgraduate programs based on the following criteria: originality, relevance to scientific, technological, cultural, social, and innovation development, and the value added by the educational system to the candidate. Established in 2005 and first awarded in 2006, it covers all knowledge areas represented in stricto sensu postgraduate evaluation. One goal is to increase visibility for positive actions promoted by CAPES in Brazilian postgraduate education.
