About the LGPD
LGPD Law No. 13,709, dated August 14, 2018, introduced the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). This legislation outlines a set of rules and guidelines designed to regulate the processing of personal information, aiming to protect fundamental rights such as freedom, privacy, and the free development of individuals' personalities."
A crucial aspect for CAPES in complying with the law is its application to the processing practices of personal data within the Public Administration. Even in situations where individuals lack the ability to prevent the use of their data, public entities like CAPES have the obligation to inform data subjects about the collected data, the purposes for which this information is used, and the methods involved in the processing. This commitment to transparency is realized through the publication of documents such as Privacy Notices, Terms of Use, and others that promote responsibility and foster trust in the management of personal information by public entities.
CAPES has actively embraced a commitment to the protection and security of personal information within its operational practices, aligning its activities and work routines with the principles outlined in the law.
