This program is the result of a cooperation effort between CAPES and IIASA and aims at supporting young scientists in developing researches under guidance of experienced researchers of the International Institute for Applied Sciences Systems – IIASA. IIASA is an international scientific institute focused in critical issues concernig climate, economic, technological and social changes in the XXI century.

Objective

This Program selects doctorate students connected to Brazilian higher studies institutions for doctorate internships at IIASA, and aims at:

• To offer high level Brazilian students and researchers opportunities for studies in the areas of science and technology, agriculture, environment, natural sciences, energy analyzes and system resources, offering chances for updating and incorporating new research management models.
• To stregthen cooperation programs and exchanges between foreign institutions and Brazilian research  groups.
• To develop learning and research Brazilian centers after the return home of the grantees.
• To increase access of Brazilian researchers to international centers of excellence and to strengthen levels of colaborations and joint publications among researchers working in Brazil and abroad.
• To allow wider international visibility to scientific, cultural, technological production in Brazil.
