UAB Centers
The Distant Learning OUB Centers are technological, administrative and pedagogical learning and teaching academic structures in the Distance Learning modality. They function under the responsibility of the Higher Learning Institutions and are located preferentially in mid-size towns – 20 to 50 thousand inhabitants – and served by public academic higher learning institutions.
There are two basic types of DL Centers, the associated and the effective centers, the latter being under direct supervision of state or city organs.
Associated Centers, on the other hand, are those working with an HLI institution, and are usually located in the campus of one higher learning institution.
For the implementation and keeping of a Distance Learning OUB Center the organ in question must provide adequate facilities for the targeted aims such as comfortable rooms with adequate lighting and ventilation. We stress that in order to fully develop its activities the Distant Learning Center must be able to share its contents with all higher learning institutions (HLI) participating in the process.
