Distance Learning Prize – OUB in Action
Essential for the internalization of public higher learning in the Country, the OUB Centers compete for the OUB in Action Prize, offered by CAPES. The prize is destined to Centers registered in the OUB Electronic Information System, and will be granted this year for the first time.
Associated, closed and partner OUB units cannot enter the competition. There are nine evaluation items involved in the process, with grades varying from 0,5 (participation in volunteer work, neighborhood associations, community activities, fire squads) to 10,0 (carrying of technical-scientific events in the Centers).
Centers interested in competing must send the necessary documents from next Monday, the 15th, until November the 8th. The names of the first three winners will be disclosed in December. The award ceremony date will be determined according to the Coordinators availability of the winning units. A document with all the details of the Prize was sent to the Centers in June.
The OUB System
The OUB System was created by Decree 5.800 of June 6th, 2016 and holds as priority to contribute to the National Policies of Teaching Qualification from the Ministry of Education – MEC. For this very reason vacancies are reserved mainly for the qualification of basic education professionals.
There are at present 928 OUB Centers (777 active) spread throughout the Country, besides the Federal District, involving 170 thousand enrolled students in graduation and specialization courses offered by 133 higher learning public institutions.
