The Program

This Program aims to provide initial qualification for teachers currently employed in the public network of basic education.

To promote the offering of graduation courses with pedagogical proposals tailored to the specific needs of teachers currently working in the public schooll system.
To provide teachers in the public network of basic education with opportunities to access specific higher qualifications in their areas of expertise.
To encourage proximity between higher and basic education, designating the teacher´s school as a privileged qualification and research place.

The offering of courses is responsibility of higher learning institutions, selected through Public Calls.

Classes in the different areas of learning are offered by the Program, in the following modalities:

First Graduation – for teachers in the public network of basic education without a university degree.
Second Graduation - for teachers in the public network of basic education with a university degree different from the one they use in the classroom.Pedagogical Qualification - for teachers in the public network of basic education with university degrees but not licensed.

Requirements for the candidates:

To be registered on the Freire Platform – link Freire Plataforma; (freire.capes.gov.br)
To have manisfeted interest in one of the courses available at the Platform;
To have their participation approved by the Secretary of Education
To present proof of being at work in the public educational network in their course of interest
