CADE's representatives participate in Lisbon Legal Forum
From 26 to 28 June, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) representatives participated in the 11th Lisbon Legal Forum. The event happened in Portugal and gathered academics, jurists, national and international antitrust authorities, and civil society representatives from Brazil and Europe. The core theme of the debates was governance and digital constitutionalism.
On 27 June, the assistant superintendent of CADE, Diogo Thomson, talked about the defence of competition in the digital markets of Brazil. On the same day, Commissioner Victor Fernandes participated in panel V, which addressed the Brussels effect on the digital economy and its influences in Brazil and Portugal.
On 28 June, the superintendent-general of CADE, Alexandre Barreto, moderated table XVI, which discussed infrastructure policies and economic growth. The president of the Brazilian antitrust authority, Alexandre Cordeiro, moderated the debates of table XVIII. The table discussed energy policy, competitive transformation, and sustainability.
In addition to CADE's professionals, the event had the participation of the president of the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (ANEEL), Sandoval Feitosa Neto; the vice president of Neoenergia, Solange Ribeiro; the vice president of the business association of Rio de Janeiro (ACRJ), Décio Freire; the general counsel of Energisa Group, Fernanda Rocha Pogliese; the secretary of oil and gas of Rio de Janeiro, Hugo Leal.
The Lisbon Legal Forum takes place annually and aims to discuss current legal issues.
