Vinicius Marques de Carvalho, president of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE, will be joining the Yale World Fellow at the end of his mandate, on 29 May. According to the Law No 12.813, CADE’s president has to go through a so-called quarantine period, during which he is not allowed to perform activities linked to the area of expertise related to the position he occupied during his mandate, for the period of six months.
During this period, Vinicius Marques de Carvalho, who is Professor of Commercial Law at the University of São Paulo and a federal public servant specialized in Public Policies, will act as a 2016 Yale World Fellow.
He will be one of the 16 people chosen for this prestigious global leadership development program at the Yale University, one of the most important and respectful universities in the United States. Vinicius Marques de Carvalho is joining a network of 291 Yale World Fellows representing 86 countries.
Yale World Fellows is Yale University’s signature global leadership development initiative and a core element of Yale’s ongoing commitment to internationalization. Each year, the University invites a group of exemplary mid-career professionals from a wide range of fields and countries for an intensive four-month period of academic enrichment and leadership training.
The mission of Yale World Fellows is to cultivate and empower a network of globally engaged leaders committed to making the world a better place. The program is part of the Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, which prepares Yale students for global leadership and service through its master’s program in global affairs, master of advanced study in global affairs and undergraduate major in global affairs.
The main goals of Yale World Fellows are: to strengthen the knowledge and skills essential for global leadership; to provide opportunity to serve others through sharing knowledge and experience, and collaborating on initiatives; and to grow a global community of people with shared values, connected to each other.
