CADE to host ICN event on mergers
From 29 March through 1 April, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) will host the ICN Merger Workshop 2022. The international event will gather representatives from antitrust authorities and specialists to discuss merger-related matters.
It is an initiative of the Merger Working Group of the International Competition Network (ICN). CADE is a co-chair of the Merger Working Group since 2020, with the competition authorities of Spain and Norway.
The workshop will cover several relevant topics and new challenges on merger review, including the authorities’ response to the post-pandemic surge in the number of mergers, new tools and technologies for merger review, and the challenges to monitoring mergers in the new world.
The ICN Merger Workshop is organised every two years by the ICN. It is an opportunity to exchange information and experience with peers, call attention to how the authorities have handled the main topics in the international competition agenda, and identify common challenges and best practices in terms of policies and competition laws around the globe.
The meeting is also an opportunity to build stronger institutional relationships between the competition authorities and foster cooperation amongst ICN members.
