CADE takes part in international cooperation between Brazil and the United Arab Emirates
Representatives of the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) took part in a mission of international cooperation with the government of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) last week. The UAE government exchanged information about their initiatives and actions with the Brazilian delegation through the knowledge-sharing platform, the so-called Government Experience Exchange Programme. The project aims to share experience and best practices in development and modernisation with several countries worldwide.
During the visit, Alexandre Cordeiro, the President of CADE, Alexandre Barreto, the Superintendent General, Commissioners Gustavo Augusto and Luiz Hoffmann, and Bruna Pamplona, the head of the International Unit, had a meeting with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, the Minister of Economy of the United Arab Emirates. In the occasion, Alexandre Cordeiro tackled the mechanisms and practices implemented by CADE for competition defence.
The representatives of the United Arab Emirates have also introduced the subject of competition defence. Amongst them, there were the representatives of the Central Bank, the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), and the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA). They discussed issues such as economy and foreign direct investment (FDI), including small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), business development, intellectual property, investment attraction, competition law, and cooperation agreements.
