CADE study on market definition nominated for international award
For another year, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) is a finalist in the annual Antitrust Writing Awards in the category of Best Soft Law. The award, held by the French journal Concurrences, highlights the most innovative initiatives in several categories linked to competition advocacy and antitrust law compliance. Voting is open to the public until 14 March.
CADE’s working paper nominated for the award is titled “New Developments on Market Definition.” Published in 2021, the document reviews a study by the Department of Economic Studies of the agency in 2010 on quantitative methods used in defining relevant markets and offers an overview of current developments on the topic.
The category “Best Soft Law” suggests fostering awareness and a culture of competition by disseminating the most interesting practices in the field. The document prepared by CADE competes against publications elaborated by the antitrust agencies of Russia, New Zealand, and the European Commission.
Access the Concurrences website to vote. Voting is public and anonymous.
The Antitrust Writing Awards 2023 ceremony will happen on 28 March in Washington, DC, on the eve of the ABA 2023 Spring Meeting.
