TECHNICAL COOPERATION AGREEMENT
CADE signs technical cooperation agreement with MP-RJ
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) and the Prosecution Services of the Brazilian State of Rio de Janeiro (MP-RJ) signed a technical cooperation agreement. The document aims to promote good investigation practices and connect organisations for more speed and efficiency in the fight against cartels and other economic crimes.
Mr Alexandre Cordeiro, president of CADE, clarifies that the cooperation between authorities sets guidelines for the management of confidential information and personal data protection, ensuring the legitimacy of the investigation. “Besides, sharing information and improving investigative techniques strengthens the measures to prevent and fight economic crimes.”
Both President Alexandre Cordeiro Macedo and Luciano Oliveira Mattos de Souza, attorney general of MP-RJ, signed a technical cooperation agreement for a five-year term. This is a time extension of the 2019 agreement between CADE and MP-RJ.
