CADE releases a publication that brings together regulations on competition defence in Brazil
On 21 June, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) released a publication that brings together the main current regulations in Brazil related to competition defence.
The document, titled CADE Mecum, was issued to compile and systematize regulations related to antitrust matters in Brazil. Besides, it eases access to the content and serves as reference material for professionals in the field, students, and the antitrust community as a whole.
The regulations present in the publication are Law 12529/2011 – which restructured the Brazilian Competition Defense System and operates both in preventing and repressing anticompetitive practices –, the Statutes of CADE, in addition to directives and resolutions issued by the antitrust agency, which rule or regulate procedures related to its operation.
In presenting the publication, president Alexandre Barreto referred to CADE Mecum as a "detailed itinerary" in which we can find the main regulations that assist and compose the Brazilian competition law.
"CADE Mecum is yet another undeniable result of the commitment of many, which has led to all relevant achievements that made the Brazilian Competition Defense System renowned in Brazil and abroad as one of the most successful public policies of our country."
