CADE receives award of Agency of the Year – Americas
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE won the title of Agency of the Year – Americas during the annual award dinner held by the magazine Global Competition Review (GCR), specialized in competition policy and regulation. The 2015 Awards Ceremony took place on 14 April, in Washington D.C., in the United States of America.
CADE was chosen Agency of the Year among the following nominees: the New York State Office of the Attorney General Antitrust Bureau, the US Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division, and the US Federal Trade Commission.
“It is the recognition of the dedication and commitment of all CADE’s staff, and of the role that competition defense has achieved in Brazil”, stated CADE’s President, Vinicius Marques de Carvalho.
The British magazine highlighted that the development of CADE’s work also produced an increase in the leniency agreements number in Brazil and forced companies to improve their compliance programmes.
This is the second time CADE received this award from GCR. In 2011, the agency was awarded the Agency of the Americas category for its performance in 2010.
