CADE publishes a collection of articles on Economic Law and Competition Protection
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) published a collection of articles named “Economic Law and Protection of Competition” on the 26th of May 2021. It is divided into three volumes, bringing together scientific articles produced by employees of the authority through a partnership with the Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV), in a joint effort to expand horizons of knowledge and research.
The collection is composed of 31 articles, which are divided according to its methodologies and themes. One of the volumes is focused on theoretical studies, the second one is centered on case studies on a variety of topics, and the last one is composed of research related to medical markets and the digital economy.
Constant training
Investment in training is one of CADE’s pillars for collaborating with the country’s socioeconomic development. In this regard, the authority annually offers employees the opportunity to undertake postgraduate studies in company in Competition Protection and Economic Law at FGV.
The collection of articles is the result of the work produced by students from the 2020 class. There were 16 subjects designed especially for the needs of CADE, involving topics related to Economics, Law, and Management/Governance, as well as international trends and global best practices in the area.
In the presentation of the collection, the president of CADE, Alexandre Barreto, comments on the importance of stimulating the permanent training of public employees. “The continued study, which resulted here in profoundly mature research, serves to further improve our ability to generate value for the country and to be a reference for other segments of Brazilian society, and, with that, to be progressively more prepared and able to comply with the high national and international relevance demanded of CADE”, he says.
In his turn, the executive director of FGV in Company, João Lins Pereira Filho, celebrates in his presentation the “innovative initiative” of the autarchy by offering the course to employees of the institution. “Without a doubt, an example to be followed in terms of valuing and investing in the development of its employees, as a way to achieve the institution’s strategic objectives and perpetuity”, he ponders.
