CADE launches a system to modernize information request process
The Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) launched on Wednesday (26 May) the Digital Questionnaire Platform, a tool that will optimize and facilitate collecting companies’ data for merger reviews, investigations and market analysis.
The new system will provide that data collection, previously manual, is completely gathered online. From now on, whoever needs to submit data to CADE can download the questionnaire, save it, make corrections, request a time extension, and receive a response receipt – all through the platform. Additionally, the platform also distinguishes public from restricted information, as the case may require.
The technological solution was developed in partnership with the University of Brasília (UnB) and was supported by the Directorate-General for Competition, the European Union's antitrust authority. For the Coordinator-General of Information Technology of CADE, Vinicius Eloy, the improvement of CADE's processes reinforces the agency's commitment to reduce bureaucracy and increase efficiency. "Throughout the years, we have invested in improving digital public services by making it expedite, in addition to more efficient, and improving access to information."
The Online Survey Platform is part of CADE's 2020/2021 Digital Transformation Plan, launched in August 2020, which establishes the guidelines to expand CADE's role in offering digital solutions for the services provided to society, and aims at reducing infrastructure costs.
