CADE inaugurates Trial Panel
In order to enhance the transparency of its decisions, the Administrative Council for Economic Defense – CADE has initiated, during the Tribunal session of 27 July, the use of the videowall. The electronic equipment, used for projecting images, is installed in the authority’s plenary and will render CADE Tribunal’s activities more transparent.
Thanks the use of the videowall, it will be possible to verify information, such as which proceedings are being tried in each session, check their type – Merger or Administrative Proceeding, for example –, their summaries and the reporting Commissioner, as well as the result of the votes – majority, unanimity or an eventual postponement of the Tribunal’s decision.
The information released in the panel plays an important role by quickly informing claimants, lawyers, journalists and the society as a whole on the Tribunal’s decisions.
The use of the videowall is part of several other initiatives adopted in order to provide information to the society regarding CADE’s proceedings. Among them, it is worth noting the status of the trial sessions, which are opened to everyone and have a live transmission; the provision of information related to CADE’s proceedings in the Electronic Information System (SEI, for its acronym in Portuguese); as well as all additional information released by the antitrust authority, which is available in its website.
