Brazil will host BRICS meeting on competition
"CADE will host the 5 th BRICS International Competition Conference, which will take place in exactly one year in Brazil." The announcement was made by the CADE’s Acting President, Márcio de Oliveira Júnior, during the 94 th session of the Tribunal, held this Wednesday (11/09).
The Conference, which happens every two years, aims to exchange institutional information in order to allow a more active and fluid cooperation between the BRICS countries, as well to promote free competition and the effectiveness of public policies.
As the Brazilian competition authority, CADE will be responsible for organizing the event, which has already been held in Russia (2009), China (2011), India (2013) and South Africa (2015). The BRICS Conference is one of the most important events in the international competition calendar, with frequent attendance by leading speakers and heads of competition authorities from several countries.
The event will be held in Brasilia from the 8th to 10th of November 2017 and will count on support from institutional partners, including the Center for Economic and Social Law Studies - CEDES.
