ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
ANPD releases English version of Technology Radar

The National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) published, on Thursday (19), the document Technology Radar – Generative Artificial Intelligence, an English-language, condensed adaptation of the original Portuguese publication, which is part of the Technology Radar series and targets an international audience.
This text, developed by ANPD’s General Coordination of Technology and Research, synthesizes the main issues covered in the volume on Generative Artificial Intelligence, exploring concepts such as “data scraping” or “web scraping”—which may involve the processing of personal data—and “synthetic content generation,” which can potentially include personal information. Both processes deal with the handling and possible exposure of personal data within generative AI systems.
The study also examines how these issues relate to the principles of the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (LGPD), including transparency and necessity, offering an initial perspective on the regulatory challenges in this emerging field.
The publication supports the ANPD’s internationalization efforts and aims to strengthen Brazil’s position in the global data protection arena by expanding international cooperation and facilitating the country’s integration into the global privacy ecosystem. Providing international partners, data protection organizations, and business entities with this instrument enhances their understanding of the ANPD’s role in the realm of studies and research on Generative AI.
