Transfer of Rights Surplus Bidding Round has record collection of R$ 70 billion
The Transfer of Rights Surplus Bidding Round, held today (November 6) by ANP, had two of the four areas on offer acquired (Búzios and Itapu), generating R$ 69.96 billion in signature bonus. This amount is a record and represents a value higher than the sum of all bonuses offered to date in Brazilian rounds.
Present at the public session were the Minister of Mines and Energy, Bento Albuquerque, the Minister of Infrastructure, Tarcísio de Freitas, the Special Secretary of Finance, Waldery Rodrigues Júnior, Senator Flávio Bolsonaro, the Director-General of ANP, Décio Oddone, the other directors of the Agency, Amorelli Júnior, Aurélio Amaral, Felipe Kury and José Cesário Cecchi, among other authorities.
“A remarkable, symbolic and very successful day. It was a particular case, unique, a complex construction that was made with the participation of several entities”, said Minister Bento Albuquerque.
According to the Director-General of ANP, the auction was successful. “It was a success because it was the biggest ever and raised the greatest bonus ever recorded in such an auction. And, mainly, because it was able to unlock a set of investments that will allow the collection and benefits of this wealth to come to the Brazilian society”, he said.

In the bidding rounds held under the production sharing regime, the signature bonus is fixed and the companies that offer the highest percentage of profit oil to the Federal State win. The profit oil is the remaining portion of the production after deducting the volumes corresponding to the company's costs and investments in the field operation and due royalties.
