Open Acreage of Concession: New versions of the tender protocol and the agreements published

On December 19, 2024, ANP published the final versions of the tender protocol and the agreements of the Open Acreage of Concession (OPC), resulting from Public Consultation and Hearing No. 2/2024, approved by Board Resolution No. 715/2024. The tender protocol offers 332 new frontier exploration blocks, 44 onshore and 288 offshore, spread across 11 sedimentary basins.

The publication of the tender protocol was brought forward compared to the initial forecast due to the swift action of TCU, which quickly concluded the analysis of the changes in the bidding instruments. The early publication of the tender protocol reinforces ANP's commitment to regulatory efficiency and market predictability, essential factors for attracting new investments.

Some of the blocks available in the tender protocol have joint statements by MME and MMA whose validity expires in June 2025. Therefore ANP encourages companies interested in the blocks on offer to send a declaration of interest no later than the end of January, ensuring the opening of a new cycle. This would make it possible to hold a public session with the inclusion of blocks whose validity of the joint statement expires in June 2025.
