DECEA
Organization of the Aeronautical Command (COMAER), created by Decree No. 3.954, of October 5, 2001, whose purpose is to plan, manage and control activities related to airspace control, flight protection, service search and rescue aircraft and with the telecommunications of the Aeronautics Command.
At DECEA, the aeronautical meteorology activity is performed by the Operations Sub-department (SDOP), in accordance with the general concepts and basic principles of the meteorological service for air navigation, which are documented in Annex 3 of the Chicago Convention.
In Brazil, the aeronautical meteorological service structure comprises a network of meteorological stations and meteorological centers, aiming the process of collecting meteorological data for application in aerial activities. Weather forecasts for aviation are prepared and disseminated.
