Brazil and China Sign Cooperation Agreements in Brasília
The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) conducted a visit to Brazil, where it met with the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) to discuss international cooperation in the area of aeronautical product certification. The meeting took place in Brasília on August 2nd 2024, and was attended by the Director-President of ANAC, Mr. Tiago Sousa Pereira, ANAC Directors Mr. Luiz Ricardo de Souza Nascimento, Mr. Ricardo Bisinotto Catanant, the Head of Airworthiness Department Mr. Roberto josé Silveira Honorato, the Deputy Administrator of CAAC, Mr. Hu Zhenjiang, and the Director-General of the Airworthiness Certification Department Mr. Xu Feng.
During the meeting, Revision 1 of the Implementation Procedures on Airworthiness (IPA) was signed. This document establishes mutual procedures for the validation and acceptance of design and manufacturing approvals for aeronautical products and articles, export/import procedures, and continued airworthiness procedures. Revision 1 of the IPA brings significant improvements to the agreement, aiming to increase predictability, uniformity, and efficiency in these processes.
Another document signed during the meeting was the Cooperation Roadmap, which outlines the priority areas in which both authorities should focus their efforts in the coming years and sets the objectives to be achieved.
In addition to the signing of the agreements, the authorities discussed other relevant topics of cooperation, such as international activities, new technologies, and future expectations for civil aviation.
This visit and the agreements signed strengthen the partnership between Brazil and China in the field of civil aviation, contributing to the advancement of safety and efficiency in aeronautical certification processes.
