The use of masks in airports and aircraft is no longer mandatory
The use of masks in airports and aircraft will no longer be mandatory, but only recommended. The revocation of the obligation occurred on March 1st, by the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency (Anvisa).
The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) will reinforce the actions determined by Anvisa to the sector and implement auxiliary technical measures for the viability of a safe and efficient air transport for passengers and professionals. Although there is no longer an obligation to wear masks, there is a requirement for the crew to provide face masks for suspicious cases during flights.
Other sanitary control measures have been maintained by Anvisa, such as disembarking in rows, to avoid crowding; the prevention of travel for confirmed cases of covid-19; the requirement for cleaning and disinfection of air-conditioning units and rooms; and audible warnings about the use of masks in airports and aircraft.
