International passenger traffic grows more than 100% in November compared to 2021
The updated data from the Supply and Demand Report, with information for the month of November 2022, is now available for consultation on the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) portal.
In November 2022, the highlight was the international traffic, which reached 1.48 million paid passengers – an increase of 103.1% compared to the 732,700 passengers handled in November 2021. The movement corresponds to 82.4% of the traffic recorded in the same month of 2019, in the pre-pandemic period.
The volume of passengers carried on domestic flights also recorded growth: there were 7.37 million passengers handled in the month, 7.6% more than the 6.85 million passengers carried in November 2021. The movement is equivalent to 91.2% of the number of passengers carried in November 2019.
Domestic demand, measured in revenue passenger kilometers (RPK), registered a positive variation of 3.9% compared to November of the previous year. Supply, as measured by available seat kilometers (ASK), was up 5.5% compared to the same month in 2021.
The cargo handling registered in the domestic market was 40,100 tons – 2.9% higher than in November 2021 and 95.9% of the amount registered in November 2019. In the international cargo sector, 82.5 thousand tons were handled, a decrease of 4.7% compared to the tonnage observed in November of the previous year.
