INTERNATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Brazil and Mozambique will have technical cooperation in civil aviation
The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) was in Maputo (Mozambique), from March 13 to 17, to start the project of technical cooperation in civil aviation with the Civil Aviation Institute of Mozambique (IACM). The mission was coordinated by the Brazilian Cooperation Agency of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The mission, which was received by the Minister of Transport and Communications of Mozambique, Mateus Magala, aimed to gather information and exchange experiences between the civil aviation authorities of the two countries to prepare the logical structure of the project, which will be developed in three main areas: operational safety, governance, and training.
The Brazilian delegation from ANAC was composed of ANAC employees and the Superintendent of Institutional Planning, Marcelo Bernardes. On behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Relations, the Brazilian ambassador in Mozambique, Ademar Seabra, and Paula Rougemont, responsible for the Brazil-Mozambique Technical Cooperation Program, participated.
Other international cooperation initiatives
In January this year, ANAC held the Workshop on Airport Pavement Strength for the Civil Aviation Authority of Angola, with training on the ACN/PCN method, in addition to the new method for sidewalk strength evaluation of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), which will come into force in November 2024.
Another highlight in Angola was the training on the Aerodrome Operator Operational Safety Management System (SGSO/AGA), which helped the country to have positive results in the ICAO audit. According to the president of ANAC Angola's Board of Directors, Amélia Kuvíngua, the preliminary results indicate that the country was above the regional average of the 24 countries in the South and East Africa region.
