In September 2022, ANAC approved new rules for the exploitation of international air transport services by foreign airlines. Such changes materialized in ANAC Resolution nº 692/2022 and in the Brazilian Civil Aviation Regulation (RBAC) nº 129, reducing the bureaucracy related to the presentation of documentation for the provision of scheduled and non- scheduled international air transport. Under the new rules, foreign companies are exempt from prior authorization to operate and can now register directly with the Board of Trade and deal with the authorization to operate with ANAC. This exemption reduced the authorization period from 270 (two hundred and seventy) to 30 (thirty) days, providing more agility for foreign companies to start flying to Brazil.
There was also the establishment of simplified criteria for codeshare partnership between Brazilian and foreign companies. Now, companies that wish to share flights only need to register this information with ANAC, respecting current international agreements .
Such changes will be presented during t he event that will b e opened by ANAC Director, Tiago Pereira, and will have the participation of directors from the Brazilian Airlines Association (ABEAR), the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), the International Association of Air Transport (IATA) and the Brazilian Board of International Airlines Representatives (JURCAIB), in addition to having ANAC Head of Air Services Department, Rafael José Botelho Faria , as facilitator .
