ANAC participates in the 17th meeting of Civil Aviation authorities from South America
With the theme “Transforming South America”, the 17th meeting of Civil Aviation Authorities of South America (RAAC), with representatives from the public and private sectors, was held in Santiago, Chile, from April 11 to 14, 2023.
In the scenario of regional air transport recovery, the event was an opportunity for the South American countries to discuss the region’s vision in the civil aviation sector for the next 10 years in topics related to competitiveness, innovation, governance, operational safety, and environmental sustainability. On the occasion, ANAC’s CEO, Tiago Pereira, shared the Agency’s experience in its institutional strengthening program.
“The development of aviation in South America requires the strong and independent governance of regulatory authorities, which allows for planning and executing consistent, effective and sustainable actions in the long term. Therefore, it is necessary that the region advances in the level of institutional maturity of the authorities, thus ensuring stability, autonomy and accountability to society,” he said.
Parallel to the ceremony, a workshop on the promotion of sustainable aviation fuels, known by the acronym SAF, was held. The Agency participated in the round-tables about the regulatory framework and public-private partnerships for the promotion of SAF in Brazil.
