ANAC hosts working group meeting to discuss aviation competitiveness
The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) held between April 12 and 14 the Aviation Competitiveness Working Group (ACWG) meeting, in the city of Brasília (DF).
The group, composed of member countries of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), aims to structure the methodology, using indicators and based on data, calculate an index of competitiveness in aviation, allowing the 193 member states to assess the degree of internal and external development, and use the index and indicators for benchmarking, enabling the identification and implementation of measures to improve the sector.
The meeting was attended by civil aviation authorities from countries such as the United States, India and the United Arab Emirates, in addition to representatives from ICAO itself, the International Air Transport Association, the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association, and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The occasion was used to discuss issues such as foreign participation in the markets of member countries, traffic restrictions, barriers to competitiveness and regulatory transparency.
The participation of ANAC, as host and as the country’s representative for the sector’s interlocution, demonstrates the relevance of the agency for the consolidation of Brazilian civil aviation globally.
