ANAC strengthens cooperation and capacity building ties with Singapore’s civil aviation authority
The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was the highlight of the meeting
The National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) held, at the end of April, an official visit to the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). Represented by the director, Luiz Ricardo Nascimento, ANAC participated in the meeting, which aimed to explore possibilities for closer cooperation and joint training opportunities between the two civil aviation authorities.
During the visit, Luiz Ricardo met with the acting director-general of CAAS, Ng Tee Chiou, to discuss the negotiation already underway of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two agencies, which covered aspects of aeronautical product certification to enable acceptance of ANAC approvals by CAAS, after the validation of Embraer aircraft in Singapore.
They also discussed possible cooperation on cybersecurity, landside facilitation (biometric boarding and automated baggage clearance), airside facilitation (yard management and aircraft volume processing), and compatible infrastructure design and operations for new electric and hybrid-electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing aircraft – eVTOL technologies.
At the end, they addressed the various capacity building and training opportunities between the two agencies, using ANAC’s experience and institutional structure.
