Civil Aviation Agency of Cape Verde receives support from Brazil to certify Embraer ERJ 190
The Civil Aviation Agency (AAC) of Cape Verde, a country in West Africa, is receiving support and guidance from the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) for the operational certification process of the Brazilian-made Embraer ERJ 190 aircraft. Through the international cooperation mission, the two civil aviation authorities seek to consolidate the technical partnership in aviation regulation and expand the market for aircraft produced in Brazil.
Since the first week of June and between July 26 and August 15, flight training inspection and certification activities to include a new aircraft model were part of the ERJ 190 certification process in Cidade da Praia (Cape Verde) and Amsterdam (Netherlands). ANAC’s Felipe Gomes Barros accompanied all inspection and certification activities in loco.
ANAC has been deepening its relationship with civil aviation authorities in Portuguese-speaking countries, such as Cape Verde, which participate in the Community of Portuguese-speaking Civil Aviation Authorities (CAACL). The mission to Cape Verde and the Netherlands is part of a bilateral agenda with several civil aviation authorities to conclude agreements for mutual recognition of certification.
