ANAC Training Center receives international award
Between 2020 and 2021, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) Training Center trained 3,455 people from various countries in the TRAINAIR PLUS distance learning Aviation English Level 3 for Civil Aviation Professionals course. The number of participants in customized training was the highest recorded worldwide in the period, which resulted in an award granted by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The award plaque was presented by ICAO Secretary General Juan Carlos Salazar on June 28 in Istanbul, Turkey, during the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium 2022.
With the expansion of places in 2020, which are now open to anyone interested in the English language, it was possible to meet the training needs of people who lost their jobs in the covid-19 pandemic, the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (CLAC) and the Community of Portuguese-speaking Civil Aviation Authorities (CAACL).
The course is free of charge and was developed by ANAC's staff, being one of the deliverables of the TRAINAIR priority project. Aviation English is part of the list of training offered by the Agency’s Training Center, certified since 2012 by the ICAO TRAINAIR PLUS Program, a category that recognizes the quality of the service.
The first class was held in 2019. Since then, more than 4,300 certificates have been issued for 12 classes. The goal is to promote knowledge of aviation technical vocabulary, contributing to more accurate communication and the safety of information transmitted about the flight.
