ANAC hosts event on aviation cooperation between Latin America and the European Union
On November 21st and 22nd, the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) hosted the meeting of the Latin America - European Union Aviation Partnership Project. The meeting took place in Foz do Iguaçu, during the AVSEC FAL, organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and the Latin American Civil Aviation Commission (LACAC) for civil aviation security issues against acts of unlawful interference ( AVSEC) and facilitation (procedures and strategies intended to facilitate the movement of aircraft, personnel, passengers, cargo and supplies in operations).
At the opening of the event, the Agency's director-president, Juliano Noman, highlighted the importance of joint work between the two regions to share knowledge and best practices in the field of civil aviation.
On the occasion, the project's management group deliberated and approved the Work Plan for phase 2 of the partnership, containing the cooperation activities in civil aviation between the two regions to be carried out until 2025. The initiatives cover topics of safety, security, new technologies, promotion of air transport and sustainability.
ANAC - EASA bilateral meeting
Also during the event, a bilateral meeting was held between ANAC and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). The director-president Juliano Noman and the director of Strategy and Safety Management at EASA, Luc Tytgat, addressed the cooperation actions between Brazil and the European Union, reaching an agreement to hold an event in Brazil, in 2023, dedicated to aviation fuels (Sustainable Aviation Fuels - SAF).
