ALTA report on the competitiveness of the air market in Latin America and the Caribbean highlights Brazil's governance in the sector

The Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA), a private organization that coordinates collaborative efforts for the analysis and development of the air sector in Latin American and Caribbean territories, highlighted the high quality of regulatory and governance work in Brazil.

In its report “Air Transport Competitiveness Index in Latin America and the Caribbean 2022”, published this November, the organization pointed Brazil as one of the most competitive countries for civil aviation. The study is available on the ALTA website.

In the study, Brazil was placed 4th, out of 27 countries, in the ranking of governance and regulation of the sector, themes covered by the work of the National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC). The analysis also points out that the Agency is one of Organs regulatory bodies best evaluated by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), according to a report published by the organization in September 2022.

Other positive points highlighted in the ALTA report on Brazil's competitiveness in the airline industry were airport charges, which are among the lowest in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the country's high market potential.
